More to come,

  1. What a fun adventure! Jana, Sarah, Anne and I stopped in Venice very briefly a couple of years ago when we took our Italy trip. We stuck to the tourist area, though, except for when we were first arriving, and accidentally didn't get off at St. Lucia, and ended up in Mestre(sp?) at around 5:00AM. Hope you get a chance to see some of the fun stuff like St. Mark's and the Canals. Also, I've noticed that there are geocaches around Venice and surrounding islands, so if you're into that and you have access to a GPS unit, that might be a fun way to explore.

Best of luck, and I can't wait to hear more about your trip!

  2. Love, love, love the pictures. I'm so jealous that Dad was able to skype with you this afternoon without me! All of your friends at Surroundings, and Craig and Sharon at HiHoe are so excited for you.... God is good and what a gift He has given to YOU.
Take good care of yourself in your last week of being 24. Love, Mom

p.s. I just read Jessi's comment and what the heck is a "geocache" anyway - either a techi term or a rock formation or both?

  3. Geocaching is like a treasure hunt for techies! A lot of my friends do it. You get the co-ordinates to a cache (or treasure, if you like) from a website like geocaching.com, plug them into your gps unit, and then go exploring until you find the box! sometimes there are little treasures inside, usually a log so you can sign saying when you found it, sometimes they ask you to take something from the box and drop it into the next cache you find so that an item can migrate from one point to another. It's kind of silly, but a fun twist on hiking or walking. When we went to Iitaly we noted down a couple of coordinates in case we had time, but we didn't really get a chance. I remember that there were several caches hidden on the outlying islands.
